Referring
Guests are referred to us (rather than guests arriving on the doorstep in the hope of a bed). Successful referrals mean that a guest is guaranteed a bed for the night. It also gives us confidence that someone is working with the guest to help them off the street and into a home they can call their own, together with any supporting help regarding alcohol, drugs, debt, etc.
Becoming a referring agency is easy – simply email the Narrowgate Night Shelter Manager (narrowgate@manchestercitymission.com) your details as follows:
- Organisation name
- Primary contact name
- Telephone number
- Organisation address
- An outline of the work you do with homeless people to help them off the streets

The Narrowgate Night Shelter itself does not work with a guest to directly help them move off the streets. What we do is align ourselves with referring agencies – we provide a quality environment to enable guests to get a good night’s sleep, so that the guest can go back to their referring agency in the morning and so engage in a meaningful way, rather than being sleep deprived.
