Funding
An often asked question is: “How is the work of Narrowgate Night Shelter funded?” Funding comes from three main sources:
1 – Individuals give
The best way for individuals to give is through are “Bed shares” scheme – click here for details.
Individuals, groups and Churches can also make one-off financial gifts – click the Donate now button on the left of the screen.
2 – Fundraising activities
We make funding bids to grant giving organisations, Churches, and companies. An increasing number of companies have created a charity budget, and we try to find those who are sympathetic to our type of activities.
3 – Housing Benefit
Where a guest staying with us is in the UK government benefit system, we can claim Housing Benefit for each night the guest stays.
However, a large number of our guests are NOT in the benefit system, and we have not identified, as yet, any funding to assist with these cases, therefore there is a significant drain on the money given by individuals and our fundraising activities.
